Universal Income

Universal Income

Elon Musk said years ago that we need to start thinking about a Universal Income with the rise of automation and Ai.  I concur and I think the time needs to be sooner than later.  Ai and Robots are going to take over a lot of jobs, which is a good thing, it will free people up to chase their dreams and be happy rather than bust their ass all day.  Our society is taking the next steps in evolution and universal income must be part of it.

There have been a few studies around America where certain citizens meeting certain criteria were given a set amount of money each month with no strings attached and well Ill let you go look up the different results.  I went to a National Disability Rights Network Conference in 2022 in D.C. and a lady from Kansas raised a valid point.  She thanked me for my service and said I was entitled to my VA Disability compensation, that I had earned it.  Then she asked me what about the people who are born with disabilities and from birth they are never going to get the chance to serve.

Those people get an average of $1,100 a month in Social Security and other employment is not easy to gain.  She asked me what about them, some of them have the spirit to be in the military, but will never get the chance.  I have to admit if it wasn't for my VA income, I would most likely be homeless.  It made me reflect and I eventually came to the point that those people are screwed from birth, so maybe we should start with Universal Incomes for our most vulnerable and then build out from there.  I saw something that said by 2030 (I think) that Tesla will have something like 750,000 forms of automation, robots, Ai, being used in their factories.  If they were people that is a lot of tax income generated, but now it will be missed out on.

Maybe tax corporations that use automation, robots, ai, and use that money to help the vulnerable, fix Social Security, fix our national debt, etc.  Why should someone born with disabilities only be given scraps, whats the average rent? groceries?  Do you think these people are getting by with their $1,100?  I sure as hell don't.

We are all either born with, acquire, or age into a disability.  What is your solution to the lost tax revenue from Ai, Robots, and automation?

Thank you,

Mikey
