Statute of Limitations

Statute of Limitations

There have been some states that have changed the statute of limitations of certain crimes so that victims can sue for personal injury or press charges.  However in my case I can not sue for personal damages for anything past two years, however criminally she can be prosecuted but I doubt it will happen.  I do wish for cases like mine there was a way I could go after her for personal injury, I think states should consider that given that I couldn't sue her when I was a child, no one would believe me.

For the Attempted Murder, she tried to claim that I drank the bleach on my own, thats been her story the entire time, because who will believe a disabled child who has a hard time speaking and gets beaten if he acts out of line?  The investigator did ask me if there were medical records of it, I told him I don't know, there might be some at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, Kaiser in Vallejo, or the shut down military base, Mare Island.  If records do exist, good luck finding them, especially if they were military records, she is the one who controlled those over the years.  The sad thing is my family would rather shun me than help hold her accountable, even now that the police are involved it will be interesting who is honest or who "forgot" all of this because they don't want to be involved.

I can't sue, and I doubt there will be any justice served.  I hope I have driven home the point of why some of these laws have to change.  If I could depose my family, the questions I would ask them and let the camera record them, it would be very telling.  If you are a legislator, please consider changing these laws.  It took me years of therapy to get the strength to stand up and it has cost me.

There are a lot of people who are in these types of situations and they have to make compromises.  I refuse to compromise anymore, I have tried and it fails every time, because they refuse to.

Thank you,

Mikey
