I saw two headlines in the news that I am going to talk about here.
The first is how the Los Angeles Police Department gunned down someone with a mental illness. Here is the link to the LA Times article. From what I gathered is police got a call about someone who was accused of being violent towards a mental health worker and his father. The father has disputed this. My thoughts are even if someone is accused of being violent, and even if someone is refusing to listen to police, it does not give them the authority to draw firearms. Police policies across the country dictate that drawing a firearm is a use of force and the officer must be able to justify why he drew his weapon on the report. Just because someone isn't listening to police doesn't give them the authority to gun them down.
Maybe investigate as to whats going on, use non-lethal measures if needed, but INVESTIGATE. This is a prime example of why I went to my authorities about me, so they understand how to COMMUNICATE with me. If you are a police officer and you can't handle someone not listening to you, or get scared this easily, turn in your gun and badge. Why would any family want to call 988 or 911 for help when the result is to be EXECUTED by the state for committing no CRIME. What crime was committed? Articulate a crime and the penalties laid out in the penal code for it, I'm waiting. What escalation of forced did the decease show that warranted the use of force that was used? This officer needs to be tried by a jury of his peers, and what dollar amount replaces a human being?
The other issue is here locally in Boise. A couple who were roomates of an elderly person is currently going through the courts and being held accountable for their ELDER ABUSE. Here is the link to the local KTVB.com article. This could very easily be an abusive guardianship too. A lot of children end up caring for their parents and a lot of children do abuse their parents. However this article is strictly about a roommate who stole from their roommate. This happens all over too, nursing homes have immoral employees, group homes, etc. We need stricter laws for those who pray on the vulnerable. I vote they get the maximum sentence and made an example of.
If you can't trust the police to show up and do their jobs, and you can't trust roommates to do the right thing, or families to not abuse you, its hard to trust. I have had roommates take advantage of me before, and when I made noise I was finally paid the three months rent he owed me. The feeling of a hot headed cop, which I had in California while flying my drone (he got in trouble, fucking moron) or being taken advantage of, well they suck equally. I had one roommate tell me people purposely got me going for their own amusement (I can be a loud ruckus and a lot of fun). I told him I know and now the bad apples have identified themselves to me.
Our society isn't all that its cracked up to be, I still think America is the greatest country on the planet, we are free-er here than any other country, however it comes at the cost of immoral fuck-tards who pray on the vulnerable. For those from Boise, our police department has killed on mental illness calls just like New York City and Los Angeles.
Thank you,
Mikey
